Does anyone believe in a Goddess?

I know about wicca, im married to a wiccan, im just trying to find out if others out there believe in a devine feminine in spite of any judeo christian values they might have been raised with.

As Wicca is drawn more into the open have you noticed that some christians are unmercifully unsheathing claws?

With the coming of a new astrological era,the symbol of the fish falls by the wayside, and it is written;yea by the waterbearers hand She shall be poured forth. These conflicts are reminescent of pagan days when the christians resorted to the installation of fear to secure their parishiners. As a Wiccan I hold not fear but love before me as I walk my path. The Goddess IS as She has always BEEN.It confounds me as to why anyone would hold fast to a faith so grounded in fear.Perhaps the culmination of animosity comes from the realization that we can no longer be burnt at the stake. An interesting theory that was. Wiccans are peaceful and harm none yet our accusers who claim to be children of Christ who himself accepted ALL,are full of hate, anger and bent on destruction. My Goddess holds your Jesus in Her arms as he weeps.I am not so much looking for an answer as I am your thoughts on this matter.Though the Goddess has always been,She is being accepted into more hearts. Why fear that?
The Goddess and Jesus can both co-exist because all gods and goddesses are ONE higher power known by different names. When you revere Mary, you are addressing the Goddess.
And the truth shall set you free; while god created man, man created religion. There is no one true religion, but different paths for a diverse population which lead to ONE destination. See you at HOME.
Blessings to you Synthia and AMEN, I spent the first twenty years or so “being raised a christian” I know the bible inside and out. My heart found spiritual peace and growth when I opened it to the Goddess several years ago. Sending soulful blessings to all the soldiers on base. Blessed be.
Love the quote Pinky, thank you for sharing that.
Well said Ophelia. The only herd I wish to follow is the one being driven through the Beltane fires.
To clarify, Wiccans call upon the gods as well as the goddesses. Worship shall never be dispelled for it is our innate nature to believe in something even if not spirituality. Even atheists have a belief of some sort, even if scientific. I believe it is our souls remembrance of Home that pulsates within us, thus we created religions to remain close through worship. Personaly, I am a broad-minded individual who respects everyone’s choices. I have friends of various religions, of course they too are open minded. When you meet the world with a good heart, it is love that is returned. As any of you pray for me, keep in mind I am happy, and I too will pray for you that the negativity that weights you down with condemnation shall be lifted and your minds will open and you too shall feel at peace and not feel the urge to condemn or convert. An it harm none do what you will. Blessings.
Thank you for your support Michael, Blessed Be.
I never said that God gave the church a spirit of fear, God is love all encompassing. I said “man” used the emotion “fear” to lure the people from the pagan faith, while stealing the pagan customs to keep worship “famliar”. A true fact, read your history, or more appropriately read your origins. Off to celebrate Ostara with my children/friends. Blessed Be!
An interesting observation, Pat from Ohio, I too have seen this. It just goes to show these people do not research the very religion they follow. Again, ignorance is the keyword. Personaly I feel everyone should research and CHOOSE their path of worship, knowing what they practise, instead of growing up and continuing whatever religion was their childhood base. Maybe we would have less miserable souls walking around. How does one practise a faith with knowing so little about it?
Blessings, Browneyedmaiden, I had been noticing several wicca/christian related questions and having read the answers was appalled at the ignorance and hostility being displayed. Thank the Goddess I am a Wiccan, and I truly know peace and acceptance.I posed this question to bring awareness, although I know we Wiccans and Pagans are aware,I wanted to try to get some real info going here that just MAYBE would open even one persons eyes. Peace starts with a ripple, may this ripple grow ever wide!
“An it harm none do what ye will”
Blessed Be!

Thank you to everyone that took part. I am posting this question to public voting simply so more people may become aware.I already have my favorite,I offer you the oppportunity to show me yours.

We are all children of the Lord and Lady, even Christ.
The Goddess has always been and will be,I aim to bring Her out of the Shadows, where the christians have attempted to place Her. While the Goddess may love the moon, She does not belong in the dark!

Can anyone tell me of a website that tells about Wicca or earth-based religions? (see details)?

I am looking for information on what they believe and what gods or goddesses they worship. I need very in depth information and I prefer a website that is accepted by these people… I need this information for a special kind of report that requires much detail. Can you help? Your help would be very much appreciated.

why are people so closed-minded to pagan beliefs like wicca, which focus on natural/earth based practices?

i have done extensive research on these practices/beliefs, and have never found anything that suggests devil worship or anything of that kind. There isnt even a satan-like character in their system, rather a god and goddess who are both positive images, and work to ensure balance in all things. Time and time again i have overheard opinions or ignorant remarks regarding this subject/religion, and i wonder where this slanted view has come from. i would really just like to know whats wrong with a religion that studies nothing but the purity and simplisities of nature. where is all the bad stigma coming from? and how are people getting away with literally just making things up? thanks for your opinions and thoughts! hope you have a kick ass day.
